SLC obituaries

Recently, Whenever I find myself on the Salt Lake Newspaper website I always end up going to the obituaries. Just for fun, I look at the names and wonder if I am ever going to recognize anyone I know these days. Fortunately I haven't found anyone, which is always a great thing. The thing that I have found are odd, bizzare, weird deaths. I feel compeled to share them... just because of their rariety.

Here is one I found this week.

CR Mohr "Rawhide" 7/7/1933 ~ 3/7/2008 Our friend CR rode into the sunset on March 7, 2008 after a long battle with Cancer and Emphysema. CR spent his life behind the wheel of a Semi-truck running up and down the highways of America. He had many friends in every state he traveled in, and everyone on the road knew him by his handle "Rawhide". He was a Happy-go-Lucky man that liked to tease and joke with everyone. CR probably read every book written by Louis L'Amour and watched every western movie ever made. He liked to go to Wendover and try his hand in the Casinos, but would return and say, "he lost his shirt". All of his friends at Gordon Jensen Trucking, where he was employed for 20 years, will miss CR and his sense of humor. He was always somewhere between "Lost and Found" and his truck was always "loaded but he wasn't."It was CR's wish to be cremated and his ashes scattered along the highways that were his home for so many years. Cremation at Sereni Care Funeral Home, Salt Lake City, Utah. There will be no services. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune from 3/15/2008 - 3/16/2008.
Seems pretty sad that his work did this for him and not a family. Sad.
